what is the best way to learn tarot?
I’ve been studying tarot cards and how to read them for five months now. I bought Tarot For Beginners from Books a Million and had my own deck of 22 cards I had bought a yard sale years ago. Right now I’m at the point where I know the basic meanings of the major arcana, but often still have trouble remembering the reversed meanings. I haven’t even started to try to memorize the minor arcana!
I’ve noticed that a lot of sources have very different meanings for the cards. Is there a book out there that is better than the others for teaching you the card meanings? Is there a certain deck that might be good for me (besides the obvious Rider-Waite)? How long is a reasonable time to have all the meanings learned and able to do readings? I can do readings now that are of course very basic, and only somewhat convincing.
thank you for your advice 🙂

You’re dead right, there are so many options out there now; and many different interpretations! My best bet would be to head straight for http://www.learntarot.com/ which is a great site for beginners, offering free courses on the cards, how to interpret, various spreads and even how to select the best tarot deck for you.
I hope this helps, and good luck with it all 🙂

Pick one card a day, check it’s interpretation in your book and try to connect with it, meaning let the card tells you it’s story. That’s how you will develop your intuition as well.

Tarot: Would someone interpret my 3 card spread?
I recently purchased a rider tarot deck and i’ve been wanting to learn how to read the tarot. I did a 3 card spread for past, present, future. My question was in relation to what the near future outlook in my love life will be. And i got the following cards: Hierophant (past, reversed), Knight of swords (present), and Ten of pentacles (future, Reversed).
I’m not sure if this spread was the most appropriate but I am barely learning how to. Also, is it important to pay attention to reversed meanings? Or can i just flip em over and interpret the normal meaning? Thanks for any feedback 🙂

You’d be best off to realize that tarot cards are a waste of time and don’t show you anything (except how gullible people can be).
